Remembrance Day 2020

Remember The Lost

By Madeline Milliken

Poppies rise

Soldiers fall

Between the crosses

Holds it all

Between the crosses

Lives hope of the fallen,

They saved us from a

Terrible fall

For the battles

We have won

They have a price

Will that suffice?

The poppies are red

For the blood, they have shed

Their black heart

For those who are dead

Six feet under

Below the grave

Lives whose hearts

have been dismayed

On Flanders fields

What happened that day

We have to remember

We have to astray

Remember those

Who gave it all

For happiness and joy

But freedom most of all

For happiness is never far
